actually i have my fair share of chivalrous acts..
recently i did something that i was really proud of and i know there are also ppl who are and will be proud of me for performing that act of chivalry. LOLOL!!
last saturday:
after the npcc inter-unit frisbee competition at HYSS, shuyee and i went home together.
while walking back to her place, we saw a jackrussell at the other side of the road..
at first i thought it was a stray, but shuyee convinced me that it was a lost dog (i thought so too after remembering how my aunt's jackrussell ran away many years ago).
that crazy dog was really a daredevil at that time.. he dashed across roads and almost got knocked down by a taxi. it was really heart-wrenching to see a near death experience happening in front of your eyes.
together with shuyee's pleading, i decided to chase that dog so as to prevent it from getting into fatal accidents. i gave shuyee my bags and then started to chase the jackrussell.
an avid dog lover would know that jackrussells are hyperactive. they can move alot faster than other dogs that we might keep as pets. as such, i really had a hard time keeping up with it.. the best i could do was to trail around 5 steps behind the dog.. damn saddening for me(a "runner") to lose so badly to a pet..
when it stopped to rest (finally..) i managed to convince him to let me hug him.. so i carried it in my arms to prevent him from running away ever again..
we went to the police station nerby hoping to find out if there were any reports made for lost pets. but sadly the policeman just brushed us off and asked us to enquire at the pet store.
obviously we werent able to find out anything from the pet store, so i decided to do things my way.
first i got a leash for the dog. $10 you know.. so not worth it..
then i brought it to walk around the neighborhood coz i think that a responsible owner would be looking for his/her pet at that time..
after walking and walking and more walking, we decided to walk in the cooler place. then we heard an owner calling a pet name from somewhere.. but we couldnt find where the voice was coming from.
just as i was about to leave, a woman came down and hugged the dog while calling its name which is "bingo". she was explaining over and over again abt her carelessness and her love for the dog. she kept saying "thank you" and told us how appreciative she was and blah..
that scene was just...heartwarming perhaps?
PICTURES will be posted at a later date.. just know that i was a hero that brought a pet back to its owner. LOL!
