who would have thought women soccer would get a league of their own? but in today's ever changing society, women are playing a more and more important role in this revolution.
back to the subject, i witnessed a clash between 2 teams of similar standards. it was quite interesting because there is a definite difference between how guys and girls play the same game.
girls would keep shouting and encouraging their team mates as the game progresses but guy wont do that. thats that main difference and the thing that sets the 2 gender apart.
moving on to the match proper,
in the first 25mins, JJC was the fiercer team amongst the 2. they pressured the opposition countless times with many good attacks. however, the good build-ups werent complemented with good finishings.
after the 25mins, JJC were clearly losing steam probably from the heat of the sun. the players looked less motivated in their facial and physical expression. they looked very tired and were slow in reacting to MJC's attacks. their coach was clearly losing his mind when his team was performing that way.
*MJC's keeper was screaming throughout. i wonder if her team was listening..*
MJC's centre-midfield no.17(crystal i think) was doing quite well for her team during this time as she made good dribbles into the opposition area but the JJC defence always manage to take the ball away only at the last minute. =(
at half-time, the score was still 0-0. both teams had their chance to shine and they did.
at the beginning of the 2nd half, MJC was still in control with several strikes but the JJC goalkeeper was really hard to beat, she saved almost every ball cleanly except for 1 ball which slipped in between her legs.
then after a series of injuries from both sides, 2 frm JJC and 1 frm MJC. the match continued in JJC's favour.before the second injury on JJC's side, there was a near goal which could have been the deciding goal for the game but sadly the ball bounced off the goalpost and was cleared by the defence. the situation was chaotic as it looked like there were around 15ppl in front of the goalpost to score and clear the ball.
in the last 20mins, JJC puts on the pressure and created several chances. JJC no.6(theresa seah) was on the recieving end for most of the bulidups. she had 1 or 2 good chance but sadly, she failed to convert them into goals as well. =(
in the end, the game ended with a 0-0 draw. though there werent any goals, it was quite entertaining to see how the girls were fighting against their fatigue and trying to encourage one another with all the mindless shouting and scoldings.
if any of you know of any other 'A' division matches, do go and see. you might learn something from it!!!
till the next match, see you!
this is the appreciation board the sec3 squad made for me.
