today's topic will be about TERM holidays and SEMESTER holidays.

Term holiday are usually not holidays becasue we are either rushing for projects or catching up with schoolwork.

back in sec school, our teacher will keep making us go back for supplementary lessons and give us tons of work. now in poly, we have to finish up projects that will be due when school reopens. so if anyone really think about it, TERM breaks actually means no break for alot of people.

Semester holidays are real holidays where one can really sit and do nothing. however, it only applies to people whom are not having syllabuses that span from 1 academic year to the other (eg. sec1 to sec2, sec3 to sec4) because their semester break is also not really a break, still have to catch up with schoolworks, tuition and blah...

in poly, a 2mth semester break may sound cool but its too damn long. ppl might say that "its a good time to work and earn money!!" but no one actually realises that working limits the time u can spend with your friends, it also limits your freedom to do anything you want.

At our age, i think work should be a leisure activity because in our 80+ year lifetime, 1 can study maximum up to 25 years old and the rest of the time will be spent on working. WHY ARE PPL IN A RUSH TO TORTURE THEMSELVES??? ppl really do the weirdest things.

semester holidays might be long but their length might be beneficial to some too. for ppl like me who have so many commitments to handle, we can slowly finish up our work 1 after another with no pressure!!

long holidays could also mean a period for a breakthrough, ppl can use this time to think about their future, or develop an idea they have been thinking of for a freaking long time.

benefits of holidays are boundless but the question is, how are you going to harness all of them?? =)
